Age needs one voice. Now it has:
Age UK is the new force combining Age Concern England and
Help the Aged in England.
Leave a legacy to Age UK - a gift in your will is one of the most effective ways you can support people in later life.
Your legacy will make a real difference to a person in need of help. It could provide support for some of the many thousands of older people around the UK who feel isolated and alone with no one to turn to. As well as our befriending services we also give practical assistance to help an older person stay in their own home and feel more secure with simple practical help like fitting grab rails or door locks. Our advice services provide information and support on a whole range of issues from helping people to access pension benefits to finding the right care home.
We promise that your legacy will be spent wisely and make a genuine difference to the people we help. Nearly half the gifts we receive from supporters come from gifts in wills, and as a charity, we rely on these donations to keep us here. You can also request that your legacy be used to benefit our work internationally, nationally, regionally or locally – the choice is yours.

There are two main types of gift that you can leave in your will to Age UK:
You can leave a specific sum of money or an item such as jewellery or a piece of art
You can leave a share in, or all of, what’s left of the value of your estate after all bills have been paid and all other legacies have been distributed.
If you would like to add a gift to Age UK to an existing will, you can use a codicil. Adding a codicil to your will means there is no need to change the terms of your current will. It simply adds a new instruction. As a rule if the change you wish to make is quite small or simple, you can use a codicil, and if the change is more significant or complex you should make a new will.
Download our codicil template (PDF 181KB) or talk to our legacy team about adding a codicil to your will.
If you wish to make several changes, big or small, it is advisable to make a new will. If you have any questions around writing a codicil or updating your will, you should seek advice from a solicitor or professional adviser.
If you would like information on making or updating your will, you can download a copy of our comprehensive factsheet on Making a Will (PDF 185 KB).
