This full-day course examines key areas of diversity and is designed to encourage healthy discussion and participation. It includes group and individual exercises which are aimed at increasing awareness whilst challenging
issues of prejudice and stereotyping.
Candidates will examine concepts including:
- race, age, sexual orientation, gender, religion and disability
- prejudice, discrimination and stereotyping
- awareness raising, employment practice and decision making
- how to embed knowledge of diversity in all aspects of work
- how services might be made more appropriate for user needs
