Housing choices

Many of us find that as we get older we start to think more about where we live. Whether it's moving in with family, renting, or sheltered housing, there are lots of different options.

I would like to stay at home

Contact us at your local Age UK if you need advice on your housing options. Enter your postcode to find the nearest one to you.

I've decided to move

I want to move to where I can get more support

  • Sheltered housing

If you want to live independently but in a smaller, easier to manage home, sheltered, or retirement housing could appeal to you.
  • Care homes

If you think you need more personal care than sheltered housing can give you, moving to a care home could be an option.

A small favour

All the information and advice we provide on the website is free and completely independent, as is our National Advice Line that is open 365 days a year.

But demand is going up. We are an ageing population and more people than ever are coming to us for support, which is why we need to ask for help.

If you are able to, just a small gift today could help us reach even more older people wherever the need is greatest.
