A group of older people holding candles during Cold Homes Week

Cold Homes Week (1-5 February 2016) was a week of action on fuel poverty and excess winter deaths. We asked you to show your support by taking part in our candlelight vigil on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Each winter, 1 older person dies every 7 minutes from the cold weather. Many of these deaths could be prevented if everyone lived in a warm home.

We asked individuals and groups up and down the country to take part in a candlelight vigil to remember the 40,800 older people in England and Wales who died from the cold last winter. Hundreds of you took part - thank you!
