Our shops play a vital role in raising the funds needed to support our mission, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Retail Manager to join our team and help make a real difference.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Ecommerce function. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of Ecommerce sales, including leading and supporting a team of volunteers and staff, overseeing stock management, sales, and customer service, and achieving sales targets to maximise income for the charity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Volunteer Management – Leading, motivating, and developing staff and volunteers to achieve income targets and uphold organisational values.
- Charity Retail Leadership – Experience managing retail operations within a charity or values-driven organisation, with a strong focus on income generation to support charitable objectives.
- Retail Management – Proven ability to oversee the eCommerce operations, creating a seamless and efficient customer journey.
- eCommerce & Marketplace Growth – Experience developing online sales through existing websites and expanding onto third-party selling platforms (Vinted, Depop eBay and Facebook Marketplace)
- Commercial & KPI Management – Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, conversion rates, margins, and stock performance to drive growth and profitability.
- Online Merchandising & Product Optimisation – Managing product listings, pricing strategies, photography standards, and optimising online product listings and website content to improve search engine visibility and drive increased online sales.
- Stock & Donation Flow Management – Ensuring effective stock control and allocation across retail stores and online channels, maximising value from donated goods.
- Operational Oversight & Fulfilment – Managing picking, packing, dispatch, and returns processes to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Customer Experience Focus – Delivering high standards of service across the online platforms.
- Health & Safety & Compliance: Ensure the shop complies with all health and safety regulations, as well as the charity's policies and procedures, including the safeguarding for staff and customers.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in retail management or a similar role.
- Experience in volunteer management is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with a diverse group of people.
- Ability to work towards and achieve financial targets.
- Organisational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of retail stock management and visual merchandising.
- A positive attitude and enthusiasm for working in a charity environment.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of Charity retail
- Excellent communication skills
- Confident in delegating responsibilities and helping team members and volunteers grow through guidance and coaching.

Hours : 37.5, including alternate Saturdays/Sundays and bank holidays 9am – 4.30pm with a 30 minute paid break
Salary: £26,925.36 per annum £13.76 per hour
