Age UK Mid Hampshire launch - Tackling loneliness and loss of independence for older people are our top priorities

Age UK Mid Hampshire was formally launched at a well-attended event in Winchester’s Discovery Centre on Wednesday 9th December. Chief Executive Mike Simpson explained that the charity’s users had identified tackling loneliness and loss of independence as its priorities.

The launch was attended by the Chairman of Hampshire County Council Councillor Jonathan Glenn, Mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Iris Andersen and the Deputy Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Jane Rutter along with over fifty of the charity’s staff, users, volunteers, partners from across the NHS, local authorities, businesses and third sector organisations.
