In July 2014 we passed the Age UK Quality Programme for Information and Advice, allowing us to be assessed for the Advice Quality Standard (AQS). This is the only advice agency-specific, independently audited quality standard in the voluntary sector. It demonstrates that our service is a well-managed one, our staff have relevant and up-to-date knowledge and that the quality of advice we provide remains high. The AQS was awarded to us in December 2014.
Furthermore, we have signed up to the Age UK Organisational Quality Standard for local Age UKs in England. This focuses on 6 areas: safe and well, older people centred, well governed organisations, effective organisations, valuing our volunteers and staff, and committed to partnership.
We have also attained ISO 9001 for a further year.
