The Care Academy is a sector based training school to help people who want to start a career in Health & Social Care. Caring for others and helping people to make more of life is a very rewarding career, but it is not for everyone and the training aims to clearly demonstrate what it takes to be a ‘good carer’. Key attributes a carer needs to hold are compassion and empathy. If you feel you have these, then read on because the care sector needs you!P.S. If you saw us at the North East Skills Exhibition at the Metro Arena on Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th September, we'd love to hear from you. If not, we'd still love to hear from you.
The support we receive from donations and sponsorship means we can provide the many benefits we bring to our customers. We help older people to live independently at home and in sheltered housing by providing care services, day services and befriending services. Among our many other activities are a free-to-use Information and Advice service, handling 8500 enquiries in the current year. You can help support Age UK NorthTyneside's work with older people by donating online through the Localgiving.com website.
