Zip Slide across the Tyne

Great North Run 2014

Are you up for it?

Take to the air for Age UK North Tyneside and cross the Tyne in spectacular fashion.

Age UK North Tyneside is now taking names of anyone who would like to register to take part in our sponsored ZIP Slide.

The slide starts from the Baltic Arts Centre and travels across the River Tyne before finishing on the Newcastle quayside.

The Care Academy


The Care Academy is a sector based training school to help people who want to start a career in Health & Social Care. Caring for others and helping people to make more of life is a very rewarding career, but it is not for everyone and the training aims to clearly demonstrate what it takes to be a ‘good carer’. Key attributes a carer needs to hold are compassion and empathy. If you feel you have these, then read on because the care sector needs you!

Jarratts Cafe is located at 13 Saville Street West, North Shields and now also in North Tyneside Council Customer First Centres.
Jarratts offers a gourmet coffee catering service complete with baristas serving cappuccino, espresso and latte, with a selection of regular and herbal teas and Fair Trade Costa Rica coffee. A ‘deli basket’ will compliment the range with an excellent menu of sandwiches, salads, snacks and homemade pastries.
Also available for private parties and corporate functions.

The support we receive from donations and sponsorship means we can provide the many benefits we bring to our customers.

We help older people to live independently at home and in sheltered housing by providing care services, day services and befriending services.

Among our many other activities are a free-to-use Information and Advice service, handling 8500 enquiries in the current year.
