Work is important for a variety of financial, health and social reasons. As we move towards retirement, it is important we have the opportunity to build our pension provision and ensure we have enough money to enjoy a decent standard of living. Age UK is pressing employers to adapt to the reality of an ageing workforce and longer working lives by encouraging good recruitment, management and working practices and by challenging ageist cultures and attitudes. A key document is shown below.

Age UK believes that older workers who are not in work, but who want to be, should be helped to get back to work. There are many people who are unable to find work, in spite of putting in significant effort, and who are not receiving satisfactory back-to-work support.
As we grow older, we should be able to update our skills and knowledge to participate fully in society and the economy. Age UK is working to improve opportunities to acquire new skills to help us remain in work, and also to access informal learning to make the most of a changing world and maintain good health and wellbeing. Key documents are shown below.
