Digital inclusion in care homes

To promote the digital inclusion of older people in care homes we share learning and good practice from Reach for IT

Age UK has produced a guide for organisations wishing to work with care homes based on the experiences of the Nominet Trust funded Reach for IT pilot project. The digital inclusion of older people in care homes - guide

There are 18,000 care homes in England alone with nearly 40,000 older residents.

The guide includes sections on engaging with the care home, getting staff on board, equipment and facilities, engaging with residents and getting the right volunteers with helpful tips throughout.

In addition every care home in England will receive a My Home Life colour bulletin - Digital Technology - for their staff rooms.

It's been created from the perspective of the care home itself and featured a care home in the North West. It provides encouragement and tips to inspire managers and staff to offer computer training in their homes.
