Volunteering

A little of your precious time given to Age UK South Gloucestershire will help improve the lives of older people.

Age UK South Gloucestershire would not be the organisation it is today without the dedicated support of its volunteers. Volunteers are involved in all of our services enabling us to reach more people in need of help.

New Volunteering Opportunity

Volunteering can make a huge difference

We have a new volunteering opportunity within our new Integrated Care Project where we are working with patients identified by three GP surgeries. Volunteers are key to the success of this project and are needed to provide information, signposting and ongoing support to help people achieve their goals. This could involve supporting someone with identifying and joining a new club, checking they have enough medication to last the weekend or helping to build confidence following a fall.

The tree GP surgeries are based in Yate, Downend and Cadbury Heath and out of pocket travelling expenses will be paid.

Urgent need for befriending volunteers

We are in need of befriending volunteers; we currently have a waiting list in excess of 60 people waiting for a volunteer to visit them once a week for a chat.

We urgently need volunteers in the Yate, Winterbourne and Filton communities. If you feel that you can give one hour a week to help an older person feel less lonely please get in contact.
