Balance and exercise classes for the over 60s
One significant problem of old age is loss of independence. Reducing the risk of falls, exercising regularly and attaining a reasonable degree of physical fitness would help an older person meet the demands of their daily routine.
Age UK Waltham Forest, in partnership with Waltham Forest Council has funded a number of weekday classes throughout the Borough.
The classes, which include Tai Chi and gentle exercise to music, are aimed at all older adults, including those with limited mobility. They can be carried out either standing or seated. We aim to make the classes informal and enjoyable.

Saturday Morning Tai Chi for over 50s
If you are not free to attend one of our weekday classes then our Saturday Morning Classes maybe for you!
Classes take place at Walthamstow Academy from 11am, they cost just £5 per week and must be booked in 5 week blocks in advance.

Yoga for the over 60s
Get a mid-week boost and feel great with our free Hatha Yoga classes.
Suitable for all levels, these classes take place at the Peter May Sports Centre, 12 noon on Wednesdays.
Currently all places are taken but if you would like to be added to the waiting list please do let us know.
