Wellbeing Programme Facilitator and Coordinator

This is a new and exciting opportunity to be part of our Step into Wellness and Stronger Together Programmes, making a real difference to people’s lives across the county.

We are seeking someone with experience in coaching people in a group setting, supporting them to improve their health and wellbeing. We welcome applications from people who are excellent communicators with great interpersonal skills, confident, well organised, and computer literate with good IT skills. You will have an understanding of the issues affecting people’s lives and the skills to devise appropriate strategies to engage vulnerable or disadvantaged people in advice and support services.

As the Wellbeing Programme Facilitator and Coordinator, you will be a key point of contact for individuals, volunteers and the programme team. You will need to understand where and when to connect to other services whilst continuing to provide support and encouragement. You will need to help people understand and identify for themselves their personalised goals and support them to achieve these, improving their self-esteem and health and wellbeing.

The role will support the planning, delivery, reporting and evaluation of Step into Wellness and Stronger Together Programmes to ensure participants are supported and enabled to access the programmes as fully as possible.

Key aims of Step into Wellness and Stronger Together programmes:

  • To enhance the quality of life for people with health and well-being needs.
  • To enable individuals to lead as independent and fulfilling lives as is possible.

Expected outcomes of Step into Wellness and Stronger Together programmes:

  • People will have increased ability to self-manage their health and well-being.
  • People will have increased self-esteem and confidence leading to improved well- being.
  • People will have an increased sense of belonging to their community.

Hours of Work: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexible working arrangements will be considered.

Salary: £24,887 per annum

Place of Work: Hybrid role, peripatetic, based in Boscawen House, TR1 3BN, working from home and within the community, offering programme in various community locations across Cornwall.

Due to the nature of the work, travelling independently is an essential part of the role therefore a driving license and access to a car is essential. Your car insurance must cover business use. Mileage expenses are claimable.

Duration: Fixed term until 31st March 2028

DBS: This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Background

Since 2022, Age UK Cornwall & The Isles of Scilly, Partners (including Chaos Group, Volunteer Cornwall, Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change, and others) and Integrated Care Board have been working together to improve access to services, with the aim of reducing demand on acute services.
