Our Plans for Dementia Action Week 19

For this year’s Dementia Action Week 2019 (20th – 26th May) we have some fantastic awareness and events planned. Remember you can always contact us for FREE information guides and booklets too.

Dementia Wellbeing Service Launch:

We are thrilled to be launching our new Dementia Wellbeing Service with Onside Advocacy, at The Hive on Tuesday 21st May.
We will be informally presenting the new service to a range of professionals with members from the both new teams ready to answer questions, we will also be joined by our partners involved in delivering this service.

Delivering Dementia Awareness Training across the County:

We are running three Dementia Awareness training sessions across Worcestershire during Dementia Action Week; they are all open to the public. Contact Training Solutions to book. 

  • Tuesday 21.05.2019: Dementia Awareness for members of the public, on behalf of Worcestershire County Council Libraries and Learning. 2pm – 5pm 
    Redditch Library, 15 Market Place, Redditch B98 8AR.
  • Wednesday 22.05.2019: Dementia Awareness for members of the public, on behalf of Worcestershire County Council Libraries and Learning. 10am – 1pm
    Kidderminster Library, Market St, Kidderminster, Worcestershire DY10 1AB
  • Wednesday 22.05.2019: Dementia Awareness for Health and Social Care professionals and members of the public. 1pm – 4pm.
    Age UK H&W, Malvern Gate, Bromwich Road, Worcester WR2 4BN.

Information Stand in Stourport: Health & Wellbeing Community Event for Older People

Our Dementia Wellbeing Officer Carrolle will be holding an information stand at the Health & Wellbeing Community Event for Older People on Wednesday 22nd May 10:00 – 2:00 at The Civic Hall, Martin’s Way, Stourport, DY13 8UJ.

Information Stand at Worcester Acute:

Our information stand will be in the main entrance area at the Acute on Friday 24th May. We will have a range of information guides on living well with dementia and a member of staff on hand to answer any queries.
We are hoping that the dementia information stand will visit the Acute on a regular basis from then on.

Intergenerational Activities at the Droitwich Spa Meeting Centre – a visit from the Mini Explorers:

Our friends from the Mini Explorers Nature Nursery (also located at Droitwich RFC) will be popping in to spend the afternoon with the members of the centre.
