Age UK H&W are supporting the NHS

Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire are very pleased and grateful to say they have received funding from Worcestershire Community Foundation to enable them to support people being discharged from hospital.

The funding will be used to supply essential food parcels for people being discharged from hospital to be used in our Home from hospital Service – COVID-19 Discharge Response service in Worcestershire.

Age UK H&W are supporting the NHS by enabling patients to be discharged quickly and safely, relieving the pressure on bed space in hospitals. Age UK H&W are ensuring patients are met at their own homes and have everything they need for an initial 24hr period such as food, heating and electricity.

This service is being led by volunteers and staff and we are appealing for any volunteers that would be happy to support them. We always provide PPE and full training for our volunteers and staff.
