We are pleased to tell you about how you or someone you know could have access to Amica 24 Home helper devices for a year at no cost to you.

My Home Helper is a simple to use electronic device that has been specially designed for anyone who isn’t familiar with technology.

Features include:

  • Calendar Clock
  • Diary
  • Reminders
  • Video Calling (which connects automatically)
  • Photos
  • Instant Messaging
  • News Headlines

We know that the support from Amica 24 can help combat loneliness, support people living with dementia as well as lots of other benefits all helping you or your loved ones to live independently for longer.

If you decide you could benefit from a My Home Helper device, Amica24 will contact you to arrange a socially distanced installation of your My Home Helper device. You may want a member of your family or support bubble to be present so they know how the device works and how best to help you get the most out of it.

The My Home Helper device needs a connection to the internet to work. This can be connected to your own home broadband if you have it, a new broadband service installed at your home at not cost to you for 12 months, or through a mobile WiFi hotspot 4G device. This is a fully funded pilot so there will be no charges to you for 12 months, If after that you decide you no longer want the My Home Helper device it will be collected and you will have nothing more to pay. If you decide to keep the device you will become responsible for the contract for the device with Amica24 and any broadband costs.

Once the My Home Helper device is installed in your home, family and friends will help you to set up reminders, send you pictures, messages and video calling, all supported by Amica24 who can help with any problems you may be experiencing with the device. Again, all at no cost to you.

We know that England will be coming out of the national lockdown in the coming months, however we expect this to be a safe and restricted process, so an easy to use device like My home helper could be a big benefit to many older people who might be isolated from friends and family.

If you or someone you know would benefit from a My home helper contact Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire and our team will support you through the process.

*Please note this is available to Worcestershire residents only*
