Wick Dementia Café is moving to Pershore – join us for the grand opening on 21st November

Published on 20 October 2023 02:04 PM

We are excited to announce that our Wick Dementia Cafe will be moving to the Pershore Civic Centre from Tuesday 21st November. The new Cafe will run every 3rd Tuesday of each month from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm.

Situated in central Pershore, the Civic Centre has a long-stay car park for members to use, shops nearby, as well as the fabulous Avon Meadows Wetlands just a short walk away. We hope that this new location will be more accessible for those who wish to come along and will encourage new members to attend.

The relaxed and friendly environment that we promote will mean that any potential new members should feel instantly at ease and part of the group, while our team helps to create an accommodating and fun atmosphere for all who attend.

The Cafe will regularly play host to a multitude of engaging and exciting activities and events, while also offering attendees the chance to connect over a cup of tea and cake!

Our Cafes are free and this will still be the case with our new Pershore Cafe! Our Cafes have a primary aim to provide support and information for people living with mild to moderate Dementia, their carers, friends and family. It’s often understated that our Cafes can also be a great place for carers to let off some steam and have the chance to chat and engage with other carers who may face similar challenges.

Our Dementia Services Manager Kelly Reeves commented on the move to Pershore saying: "We are really pleased to announce we are moving our Wick Dementia Cafe to Pershore! We are hoping that this more centralised location in the heart of the town will be more accessible for people living in Worcestershire with a dementia diagnosis to attend. The group offers support, friendship and access to advice and signposting, along with the opportunity to have lots of fun and experience new things. I'd like to extend a big thank you to Wychavon District Council for supporting us with the use of the venue to enable us to provide this much needed community service. Please do pop along to our open day to meet the team on the 21.11.23! We look forward to seeing you all and hope you enjoy the session with us."
