Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire is a local independent charity and brand partner of Age UK. We help over 1,500 local older people every year, offering activities, events, befriending, information and advice.   • Help at Home Assistants

    Are you passionate about helping to improve the quality of life for older people and would like to help us to promote choice, opportunity and independence in your new role?

    We are actively recruiting for help at home assistants in Evesham, Pershore, Worcester City, Malvern and surrounding Villages.

    Flexible hours are available, we are seeking applicants who would like 15 or more hours per week. Clients usually require assistance between 9-5pm Monday to Friday. We cannot guarantee a set number of hours when you start employment, however, we will work towards building your client base on the number of hours you require.

    Applicants must have a full driving licence and access to a car for these roles.

    The hourly rate  is £9.51.

  • Director of People and Organisational Development

    Could you help us to make Herefordshire and Worcestershire a great place to grow older? 

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of People and Organisational Development to join our senior leadership team.  

    You will work alongside our CEO and Leadership Team to create a culture that allows our people to thrive, focusing on development, inclusion, and wellbeing, giving us the flexibility to grow  and meet the needs of increasing numbers of older people who are experiencing challenges including loneliness and dementia. . 

    This is a new post for the organisation and is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and innovative professional who can bring about positive change and establish us as an employer of choice, creating a high-performing culture that supports our business needs and long-term objectives.

    The role offers the right candidate the chance to help shape the strategic future of a busy charity, whilst being hands on as a leader. 

    Hours: 30-37                                    

    Salary: circa 45k FTE dependant on experience

    Base:  Malvern Gate, Bromwich Rd, with flexibility for some home working

  • Benefits support volunteer

    To provide a tailored service to meet the needs of individual clients  supporting and helping them to complete benefits forms for example: Attendance Allowance and Blue Badges.

    The most important qualities we are looking for are good communication skills, an eye for detail and IT skills.

    Working hours: Flexible, ideally one day a week

  • Young Onset Dementia support volunteer

    You'll be working with our friendly Living Well team to support people who have mild to moderate dementia, their families and carers. This is a very rewarding role, providing tailored one to one support for someone who has received a diagnosis of dementia under the age of 65.

    The most important qualities we are looking for are patience and an understanding attitude.

    Working hours: Flexible.

  • Dementia support volunteer

    To help our team support more older people in the county to adapt and live well with mild dementia. You'll need to have patience and an understanding attitude.

    Working hours: Flexible, ideally one or two days per week

  • MCST support volunteer

    Help us to improve the quality of life for older people by giving Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) to people with a diagnosis of dementia. 

    The most important qualities we are looking for are patience and an understanding attitude.

    Working hours: Flexible, the team deliver sessions once a week at our meeting centres.

  • Dementia Meeting centre volunteer

    You'll be working with our friendly Living Well team to provide practical support for people who have mild to moderate dementia, their families and carers. This is a very rewarding role, which will involve joining in activities sessions, helping with refreshments and providing the right safe and social environment for clients at the centres.

    The most important qualities we are looking for are patience and an understanding attitude.

    Working hours: 5 hours in Kidderminster and/or 5 hours in Stourport each week.

Do you work in finance? Could you be our next trustee?

We have recently welcomed a number of new Trustees to the Board, so only have one vacancy at the moment. We are looking to recruit someone with finance experience.  Please note this is a voluntary unpaid role.
