The 6th Active Age Festival, organised by Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire, the University of Worcester Sports Department, the Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire, and the Worcester U3A will take place on Saturday 10th June.

The Active Age Festival is a day just for older adults. Starting at 10.00am the day is packed with activities, demonstrations, entertainment and information. You can join in free taster sessions and workshops throughout the day. Meet the clubs, groups and activities from the local area who welcome the 'over 50s', and have no upper age limit!

The NHS advise that being active reduces the risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, some cancers, depression and dementia. Getting out and about on a regular basis reduces feelings of loneliness and stimulates the mind.

Last year (2016) there were free taster sessions in: Line Dance, Zumba Gold, Solo Ballroom, Tai Chi, Indoor Golf, Indoor Archery, Short Mat Bowls, Health Walks, Energy Healing, Strength & Balance Exercise, Seated Exercise, Table Tennis, Chess and Craft!
