Our friendly Help at Home Assistants offer regular, practical support with those tasks around the house that have become a little bit too much, including heavy shopping, cleaning and tidying, changing the beds, laundry, hoovering and much more.

About our Help at Home Service

Our Help at Home service supports older people over the age of 50 to stay in their own home and maintain their independence for as long as possible. Our assistants typically build up a relationship with their clients, who appreciate the consistency of seeing the same friendly face each visit.



We provide regular, reliable, friendly support. Our team do the jobs that have become a little too much for an older person to manage on their own.

Typically, these tasks will include:
* General housework and keeping the home clean and tidy
* Cleaning
* Changing the bed linen
* Laundry and ironing
* Hoovering
* Shopping (either for you or together with you)
* Companionship
* Keeping a client company so their partner or carer can take some time for themselves
* Sorting and tidying
* Taking clients to appointments or out for trips and social activities
* Preparing lunch and snacks.

We can’t provide personal care (such as help with dressing, feeding, medication, washing and toileting).

How we get started

If this is the kind of help you, a relative, or friend is looking for, please get in touch so that we can arrange a home assessment visit. This will be an opportunity for one of our team leaders to discuss our services in more detail, to find out exactly what kind of help is needed and to plan an appropriate schedule of visits.


Our team leaders will then find a suitable, local Assistant who will provide your regular support.



All our Assistants have an enhanced DBS checks and undergo relevant training. They are friendly and professional and always carry identification. No visit will take place without a pre-arranged appointment.

Our service is very flexible and we’re happy to amend the frequency or length of visits to suit your changing needs.

What does it cost?

The charge for our Help at Home service is £19.50 per hour, with a minimum duration of 1 1/2 hour per visit.

Clients are charged 45p per mile for any journey undertaken for them or with them by the Help at Home Assistant.

We will send you an invoice for the total number of hours’ work you have received. To make things easier, invoices can now be paid by direct debit, by card over the telephone, or by direct transfer into our bank account
