In a world where an ageing population is becoming more prevalent, the invaluable experience and expertise that older employees bring to the table are crucial.

Carl Bennett, Chief Executive at Age UK Staffordshire, said: ‘Our ageing population is a demographic trend that continues to reshape our social and economic landscape.

‘National Older Workers Week serves as a poignant reminder of the wealth of knowledge, skills and experience that our older workforce possesses.

‘At Age UK Staffordshire, we recognise the unique strengths that come with age and appreciate the diverse perspectives that older employees bring to our organisation.

‘The proportion of older individuals in the workforce is steadily increasing, and this demographic shift not only reflects the necessity for organisations to adapt but also underscores the importance of fostering age-inclusive workplaces that value the contributions of employees across generations.’

Age UK Staffordshire champions the promotion of positive attitudes toward ageing and actively works towards creating an environment that embraces the talents of older workers.

The charity is encouraging businesses and organisations to reflect on the wealth of experience, skills, and dedication that older workers bring to the workforce in a celebration of age diversity. where every employee, regardless of age, feels valued and empowered.
