Join in our range of activities in Stoke on Trent to help prevent falls by improving your strength and balance.

Walking Groups
Meet new people while maintaining and improving your mobility. Join our walks in beautiful parks, canal paths and open spaces across the North Staffordshire area - these can be one, three and five mile walks. Weather-appropriate clothing & footwear are essential.

Who are our Walking Groups for?

Anyone aged 50 and over in the Stoke on Trent area.

What are the benefits?

Our activities are organised by our Ageing Well team working closely with professionals in the health service and with Senior Health Mentors. This is a unique approach which recognises that older people themselves are an important health resource for each other, and for their community.

Older people can benefit from:

  • Increased energy levels
  • Promoting good mental health and keeping your mind active
  • Helping with weight control
  • Improved sleep
  • Reducing the risks of falling, heart disease, strokes, raised cholesterol, stress, arthritis and osteoporosis
  • Gaining confidence and self-esteem
  • Meeting new people and making new friends
