Age UK Bristol (AUKB) is a local, independent charity which aims to support older people, their families and carers to enjoy later life.  We are seeking a voluntary trustee, with financial expertise and experience of charity accounting, to join us.

Age UK Bristol endeavours to support Bristol to become an age-friendly city through direct actions and also through our influencing work.  Our staff and volunteers care passionately about providing the highest quality services and support for older people. We are also committed to working in partnership with other organisations and enjoy good relationships with our voluntary sector colleagues. We would love to hear from you if you share our ambitions.

We have an active Board of Trustees’ Sub Group, supported by the Chief Executive, Senior Finance Officer and an external accountant, which  is responsible for financial oversight and guidance to the Board.  We are looking for a trustee to join the Finance Sub Group to ensure, effective financial management of the Charity and the development of a viable and sustainable approach

Join our committed team of Trustees to help guide us in this next stage.  If you want to work with and for older people in Bristol, now is the time to make a difference.

What our trustees have said:

Chair of Trustees, Mina Malpass says, “I joined Age UK Bristol because I was so impressed with how such a small organisation seemed able to achieve so much. Their success across Bristol has brought so much value to many older people and the spirit of collaboration with a wide range of older peoples organisations across the whole of the city is a great example of the strength of the voluntary sector. It inspired me to want to be part of this lively, vibrant and very local organization”.

Previous Trustee, Geoff Clements also shared his experience, “I was treasurer at Age UK Bristol for some 10 years, and it was always a stimulating experience.   I was always conscious that the work the charity was undertaking was vital to the older people of Bristol, and that we had to keep on providing those services as best we could. My fellow Trustees and the staff were inspirational to work with, and it was very rewarding to hear the experiences of those we were able to help.”

We would love to hear from you if you have relevant experience and would welcome the opportunity to help us grow.
