Computer training

Age UK Camden’s Computer Training project equips people aged 50 and over with the basic skills of accessing and using the internet and email and basic word processing skills.

Stay connected with Age UK Camden - our computer training is delivered by staff and a team of knowledgeable volunteers.  The classes are small, to enable learners to receive lots of individual support.  There is no formal syllabus that you are required to follow and we aim to support you with what you want to achieve, and we adapt your training accordingly.

Introduction to Computing – A six week introductory course, covering all aspects of getting started with using the internet, email and word processing.

In addition to our six week course we offer a range of short courses that cover particular topics:

Stay in Touch: Using Skype and FaceTime

Stay social: Using Facebook

Gadget Clinics

Stay digital: Cameras and smartphones for photography

Stay active: finding and booking activities online

Stay healthy: Using NHS choices and other websites

All courses are run at our IT training suite in Tavis House.

Drop In Sessions

If you are a confident computer user or have recently completed a course, you can use the excellent computer facilities at our head office during our drop in sessions.

Drop in sessions are run Monday – Thursday 10am – 1pm.

The drop in sessions provide a warm and friendly environment where you can access the internet for free, practise the skills you have learnt, use Skype, discover new things to try out on the computer and meet like-minded people.  No prior appointment is needed and knowledgeable volunteers are on hand to help with any questions you may have.

If you are interested in finding out more or becoming a volunteer for the project please use the contacts below.
