Computer training

Age UK Camden’s Computer Training project equips people aged 50 and over with the basic skills of accessing and using the internet and email and basic word processing skills.

Our computer training is delivered by staff and a team of knowledgeable volunteers.  The classes are small, to enable trainees to receive lots of individual attention.  There is no formal syllabus that you are required to follow and we aim to support you with what you want to achieve, and we adapt your training accordingly.

Classes

A Beginners Guide to Computers – A ten week course for complete beginners, covering all aspects of getting started with using the internet, email and word processing.

In addition to our ten week course we offer a range of short courses that cover particular topics:

  • Save time and money online
  • Digital Photography – A Beginners Guide
  • Using Skype – A Beginners Guide
  • Social Networking Online – A Beginners Guide
  • Genealogy and Family History: Using a Computer – an Introduction

Beginners courses are run at West Hampstead, Highgate and Kilburn libraries.

Drop In Sessions

If you are a confident computer user or have completed our ten week beginners computer course you can use the excellent computer facilities at our head office during our drop in sessions.

Drop in sessions are run Monday – Thursday 10am – 1pm.

The drop in sessions provide a warm and friendly environment where you can access the internet for free, practise the skills you have learnt, use Skype, discover new things to try out on the computer and meet like-minded people.  No prior appointment is needed and knowledgeable volunteers are on hand to help with any questions you may have.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the project please contact the volunteer coordinator below.
