Mayor opens Age UK Dudley’s first shop!

Age UK Dudley’s first charity shop in Brierley Hill was officially opened on Tuesday 20th October by the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Steve Waltho and the Lady Mayoress. The Mayor congratulated the charity on opening what is hoped will be the first of many shops.

The new shop is raising funds to support the work of Age UK Dudley to benefit older people living in the Dudley Borough.

Jim Cameron, Chief Executive Officer said ‘we are delighted that the Mayor and Lady Mayoress have been able to support us today and mark the opening of our first charity shop. I’d like to thank staff and volunteers for all their hard work to get the shop up and running. We would welcome people to pop in and visit our fantastic shop, meet the team and have a look through some of our high quality items. Every purchase or donation will go towards benefiting older people in the Dudley Borough.’

We will gratefully receive any unwanted clothing, hand bags, shoes, books and bric-a-brac at the shop. If you are interested in volunteering at the shop, please call our Volunteer Development Manager, René Evans on 01384 356150, email volunteer@ageukdudley.org.uk or call into the shop.
