To mark Grandparents Day on Sunday 4 October 2015, we asked you to share photos of your grandparents.

A big thank you to everyone who's contributed their family photos already. If you'd still like to share your pics, it's not too late! Just follow the instructions below.

Grandpics celebrates the contribution older people make to society by capturing special moments in time - be it a recent photograph of a grandparent or a picture of them when they were younger.

By supporting the campaign and donating £3 to Age UK, you can help end loneliness.

How to get involved

1. Share pictures of your grandparents

It’s easy to get involved with Grandpics. All you need to do is find a photograph of your grandparent that means a lot to you, and share it with us.

Ways to share your photos:

  • You can share your photos on Twitter or Instagram by using the hashtag #Grandpics and the call to action, “Help @Age_UK end loneliness. Text GRAND to 70004 to donate £3”
  • If you don’t use Twitter or Instagram, you can email your photos to us at

All photos shared will be showcased as part of our celebration of grandparents. We’d love to hear the story surrounding your photo, and why it's special to you.

2. Help us fight loneliness

Sadly, around one million older people in the UK regularly go an entire month without speaking to anyone, and it’s likely they’ll have no one to visit them on Grandparents Day.

But you can help change that.

Please text GRAND to 70004 to donate £3 to Age UK. Your money will help end loneliness and give everyone the chance to make the most of later life.
