An intern

We offer a structured internship programme with living wage compensation, aimed at providing a constructive and valuable experience.

About our internships

Our internship scheme offers a fantastic opportunity to get involved with Age UK. You’ll work with our experience staff working on projects and events, to learn how we help older people. You’ll be able to build on your existing skills and gain new ones.

We recruit interns twice a year, with placements beginning in April and September.

Our internships can last for around 12 weeks, in one of our departments based at our offices in Ashburton, London or Warrington.

The programme is aimed at individuals looking to gain work experience in the Charity sector. Interns are usually graduates, or professionals looking for a career change.

Reasons to choose Age UK

  • Make a difference - Your work will help us to make sure that everyone can love later life
  • Personal development - We will support you during your internship with a role induction and training, ongoing reviews and contribution recognition, CV development support and reference letter detailing work undertaken and skills and experience acquired.
  • Develop new skills - Whether they're in planning, organising, communicating or influencing, you'll have gained plenty of new skills by the end of your internship.
