TV personalities Ellie and Izzi are encouraging fans in Yorkshire to take part in Age UK’s popular running event this November.
- Ellie and Izzi, much-loved for their hilarious comments on Channel 4's Gogglebox, will be kicking off Age UK's Leeds Abbey Dash which is now in its 31st year
- The Yorkshire locals are asking runners to join them at the starting line of the run which sees 12,000 runners take to the streets of Leeds
- Sign-ups are still open for the 10km and Junior categories of the event.
We are delighted to support this year’s Dash, through the streets of our home city. It’s wonderful that by doing something you enjoy so much, you are helping Age UK to support so many vulnerable people in later life here in Leeds and across the UK.
A race for everyone
The Leeds Abbey Dash is popular with fun-runners and elite athletes alike. It has been hailed as one of the best races in the country by Men's Running magazine.
Participants that sign up to the event, one of the fastest 10ks in the country, will be raising funds to help Age UK make a crucial difference to the lives of older people.
Age UK supports the almost 3 million people in the UK aged 65 and over who are facing later life alone. Funds raised by runners will help us provide support, advice and companionship to those who need it most, and support our programmes for lonely older people in the Leeds area.
Run with Ellie and Izzi
Signing up to the 10k event costs £24 (£22 UKA affiliated). The Junior Race is £8 to enter (ages from 8-14 years).
All finishers will receive a limited edition Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash 2016 t-shirt.
