On Thursday 2nd May the London Mayoral and Assembly elections will take place. These will provide an opportunity for Londoners to vote for both a Mayor as well as London Assembly Members.

There are 1.5 million Londoners over 60, and older Londoners are the fastest-growing age demographic in the capital. At the election one third of all the votes will be from someone over the age of 60. Age UK London is calling on the next Mayor of London to deliver the Age-friendly London Action Plan launched in 2023.

The Mayor of London has responsibility in a range of areas including transport, housing, policing and safety, and the environment.

Age UK London is engaging with the main Mayoral candidates to ensure they are considering the contributions and needs of older Londoners.
