What is Information and Advice?

If you, or a loved one are going through a life-changing event, our dedicated team are on-hand to make sure that you are given the correct advice or provided with access to appropriate services to make the process easier for you.

What can we do?

We are proud to offer a comprehensive, quality assured service providing essential free information and free advice to people of state pension age and over on a variety of topics because we understand that every person’s need is different.

Health & Social Care - Finding a care home or getting some help at home, and how care is funded, dealing with health services.
Income - Welfare benefits checks, Attendance Allowance, Council Tax Support, Housing Benefit and Pension Credit.
Housing - Information on housing options, staying safe and warm at home, home adaptations and preventing falls.
Local services - Information on services available in Merton
Transport - Help to apply for Oyster 60+, Taxicards, Freedom Passes and Blue Badges.

If we are unable to assist you with your issue, we will find a local service that can help.

How to access support

By phone: 020 8648 5792- Monday- Friday; 9:00am – 4:00pm

By email: advice@ageukmerton.org.uk - We aim to respond to emails within 5 working days

At our office:  We operate a waiting list and appointment system only - If you drop-in to the centre for assistance, we will ask you to contact us by phone instead to speak with an Adviser before being added to the waiting list. If your matter is very urgent, we will signpost or refer you to an alternative service who may be able to provide prompt assistance.

Home visits: Are available for Merton residents who are housebound or unable to attend an office appointment due to health reasons
