What you'll get with Universal Credit

The amount of Universal Credit you get will depend on a number of factors, such as the amount of hours you work or how much savings you have.

You can’t get Universal Credit if you have savings of more than £16,000.

Standard Universal Credit payments are:

  • £317.82 per month if you’re single
  • £498.89 per month if you’re a couple

You may be entitled to extra amounts if you have housing costs, caring responsibilities, dependent children, childcare costs and/or you have limited capability for work due to illness or disability.
