Politics and Government
Age UK actively promotes the interests of people in later life to Government and politicians from across the political spectrum.
We work hard to engage parliamentarians, local politicians and other key organisations on a range of key issues of importance to people in later life; from income to health and social care, housing to employment.
We also work with a range of other organisations locally, nationally and internationally to help enrich the lives of people in later life.
We produce briefings on a wide range of issues relating to people in later life – from pensions to age discrimination, and health and social care to age-friendly communities.
Our supporters have been asking MPs to become Age Champions. MPs agree to work to help make the UK and their community a great place to grow older.
The Age friendly places guide gives suggestions for how we can make our communities a great place to grow older.
The All Party Group on Ageing and Older People debates issues of importance to people in later life, reviews parliamentary proposals relating to ageing and involves people in later life in its work.
Age UK will host and co-host a series of fringe events at the party conferences this autumn.
