There's more to me

Older people are often referred to as a group, or quoted in statistics, but through our new campaign, There’s More To Me, we’re asking people to think again.

No one is just what you see..

Older people should be valued, and treated as individuals, not just an amorphous age group:

  • No one is just what you see. We are all unique and the result of our experiences: every hand we have held, every song we have heard, every word we have exchanged.  Have a look at our short campaign film
  • We want to share the wealth of knowledge, history and experiences of older people, who deserve to be supported and cared about as individuals, rather than thought of as simply a group or a statistic.
  • There’s More to Me is designed to enhance the service provided by Age UK Suffolk as well as to raise funds, so we can continue our work and treat older people with dignity, and respect each person in their own right.

The sad truth is that, for many older people, the opportunities to share these stories are few and far between.

At Age UK Suffolk we’re trying to make sure through befriending, lunch clubs, dementia clubs and other support that the older generation of our county has the opportunity to be listened to and valued.

Everybody's got a story to tell.. share your stories with us on social media using the hashtag #theresmoretome follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

We're on the buses! Take a look at our campaign out on the road with local transport provider Suffolk Norse.

There's More To Me is a campaign kindly donated by Spring, communications design agency.
