On Saturday, 31 July, walkers set off to complete the Walk of Ages to raise money for Age UK Bradford District.

Joining the group was the charity’s youngest fundraiser, Avie Morland-Pearson who was turning two the following day!

She was joined by Nanny Rosie Archibald-Darcy and Pappy, John Darcy who completed a 7 mile walk from Shipley to Bradford city centre. They raised an impressive £538 from their friends and family which will go to support the work the charity does in the area.

Setting off with a loaded pushchair, balloons and collection tin Rosie, John and young Avie enjoyed the challenge of Bradford’s hilly streets.

Some of the other walkers continued on from the city centre to take in all six of Age UK Bradford District’s community Hubs, walking a total of 24 miles from Shipley to Keighley.

The Walk of Ages is part of “Connections 21”, a campaign to raise awareness as well as funds for the charity so that they can continue to connect older people to the information, help and support, advice and activities that they need to live their best life.
