Join us at the Headland Hotel's Sustainable Christmas Market

We are excited to announce that one of our supporting partners in Newquay, the Headland Hotel, will be hosting a Christmas Market on Saturday, December 6th, from 11 AM to 2 PM. This event promises a variety of delightful gift ideas and enjoyable activities!

You can find the Age UK Cornwall stand in the Ballroom, alongside several other charities that are supported by the hotel. Govenek (Newquay) Hub Manager, Donna, and Events and Legacy Lead, Tim, will be there to answer any questions you may have. This year, we are excited to showcase special Christmas decorations crafted by clients from the Community Hub, along with vibrant plants and our uniquely designed Christmas cards. Any small donation would be greatly appreciated, whether big or small.

Moreover, our partner, The Letterbox Hamper Company, is generously providing merchandise for the caregivers, friends, and volunteers who enrich our lives!

This year also marks the 125th anniversary of the Headland Hotel! To celebrate this milestone, Tim has designed a greeting card titled “First Christmas – A Race around the Bay,” featuring our logo on the back (see the front page below).

This card beautifully captures the festive spirit, but it contains two notable anachronisms. Can you identify them? Hint: One was created in 1963, so it’s out of place for the era, while the other is more recognisable!

If you’re in the area on that day, we warmly invite you to join us in showing your support! As a wonderful addition, the Truro Preparatory School Choir will also be performing Christmas carols in the Ballroom, starting at 2:30 PM, so do stop by for a warm drink and some festive cheer!
