We know that stimulation is crucial for anyone experiencing changes to their cognitive capabilities. COGS Groups have emotional wellbeing and happiness at their heart – ensuring people attending these sessions feel fulfilled.

COGS sessions offer tailored support to individuals who are facing memory challenges. Utilising Cognitive Stimulation therapy, participants can expect to:

- Engage in purposeful and structured activities which keep their brain engaged, and improve cognitive function like memory, attention and language.

- Take part in group activities with other people who may have similar experiences, forming friendships and connections

- Participate in engaging themes which will facilitate discussions, activities and other practical tasks

- Experience a boost in confidence, and ability to cope with and overcome challenges faced as a part of every-day life

These sessions are designed with wellbeing at their heart. We will help people with mild-to-moderate Dementia and Alzheimer’s diagnosis to maintain their level of cognitive capability, and crucially, to find fulfilment from everyday activities.

Respite for carers

Our COGS sessions are staffed by trained personnel, meaning caregivers are able to drop-off the person they are caring for, providing an invaluable opportunity for some respite.

We hope that this service provides caregivers with the opportunity to take a well-deserved break, safe in the knowledge that their loved-one will be well-cared for. This will provide time for shopping, visiting the GP – or just spending time with friends.

Our sessions aren’t just about promoting mental wellbeing through meaningful participation – they are about promoting wellbeing in an entire ‘care unit’, ensuring that both the person being cared for and the caregiver are empowered to thrive.

When and where does this group take place?

Our COGS clubs are held every Tuesday from 9:30am - 2:30pm.

Clubs are held at our centre at Hollybush Court, Hollybush Close, Sevenoaks, TN13 3UX.

How much do sessions cost?

COGS Club sessions cost £28 per session.

This cost covers the provision of trained personnel throughout the duration of the session, as well as a light lunch, snacks, and hot and cold beverages provided throughout.
