Isolated? Lonely? We can arrange social visits from trained volunteers to help you live well.

Loneliness, and social isolation, are serious problems that can have a huge impact on our mental and physical health. Everyone should have someone to talk to, and that is why we offer a Befriending Service; ensuring regular social contact with well-trained volunteers, we can bring human contact to those who need it most. Our volunteers are often matched to those with shared interests, and it is our shared goal to improve the wellbeing of anyone visited by a befriender.

The length and frequency of befriender visits will vary from person to person. Our volunteers are not able to assist with housework or offer guidance with health or legal matters, but they will make arrangements when asked, as we provide other professional services to cover those needs. Before you meet any assigned volunteer, we always conduct a social visit to better understand our client's needs and passions, so that we might understand how best to help you, and assign the most appropriate volunteer we can.
