Together, let's change how we age.

We're supporting older people across Herefordshire & South Worcestershire.

Who we are

Age UK Wyvern is an independent local charity, created by the merger of Age UK Worcester & Malvern Hills and Age UK Hereford & Localities at the start of 2024.

As a brand partner of the wider Age UK network, we are proud to deliver a range of needs led services in the community to support older people, across Herefordshire & South Worcestershire - helping to improve and sustain their quality of life.

We've been working in the local community to help older people for many years now; assembling a dedicated office & shop staff team and a huge number of dedicated volunteers to help us deliver local services and activities to older people in our area.

We're governed by a Memorandum and Articles of Association and have Directors who are also Trustees.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to the lives of older people by providing services that help maintain self-respect, dignity and independence, provide support as needed and serve to enhance the quality of everyday life.

How we are funded

We are supported by donations from the public, income from our charity shops, and some charitable grants; with around 60% of our funding coming directly from our charity shops.

Organisation structure

As a charity, Age UK Wyvern has a Board of Trustees whose job it is to monitor the organisation’s strategic objectives. The Trustees also help to govern the organisation and direct how it is managed and run.

The CEO works closely with the Trustees to carry out the day-to-day running of the organisation.

The Trustees are responsible for the good governance and financial management of the charity, and for ensuring that its core purpose of helping older people is carried out. Generally, trustees include: the Chair, Deputy, Treasurer and Board members.

Strategic Plan

This plan is a result of a review and lays out our priorities for service delivery across Herefordshire and South Worcestershire. To be able to undertake this work we need to ensure that our organisation is strong and sustainable and so we are also focusing on the building blocks which underpin our work with older people and their families.

Our strategic plan shows how we have evolved into the organisation we are today. The joining together of trustees, staff and volunteers from across Herefordshire & South Worcestershire strengthened our capacity to fulfil our mission statement - to help and support older people in our community.
