Beacon is a system previously used by Age UK Wyvern to manage supporter, donor, and stakeholder information. On 3 August 2026, Age UK Wyvern was informed by Beacon that it had experienced a cyber security incident involving unauthorised access to its systems. Beacon has reported the incident to the Information Commissioner's Office and continues to work with its forensic specialists to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Age UK Wyvern is in the process of contacting any individuals or organisations whose data was held on Beacon. Since learning of the incident, Age UK Wyvern has undertaken a full review of the matter. We have removed all of our data from the Beacon platform, arranged for it to be securely deleted from that environment, migrated our information to a more robust system under our direct control, and made the decision to terminate our relationship with Beacon. We have also completed a detailed assessment of the incident and continue to monitor updates from Beacon and its investigators.

If we have contacted you, at present, there is nothing specific that you need to do. However, as a sensible precaution, we recommend that you remain vigilant for any unexpected telephone calls, emails, text messages or other communications that claim to be from Age UK Wyvern or another trusted organisation.

We sincerely apologise for any concern this incident may cause. Protecting the personal information entrusted to us is extremely important and we are disappointed that this incident has occurred within a third-party supplier's systems.
