Age Cymru's Glenn Little has become only the fourth person in the UK to gain an internationally-recognised qualification.
Glenn recently returned from Estonia where he qualified as a National Nordic Walking Coach with the International Nordic Walking Federation.
Says Glenn, who is the Physical Activity Development Officer for the older people’s charity Age Cymru:
“Nordic walking involves walking with a ski-type pole in each hand and it has a number of benefits above that of normal walking.
“It is one of Europe’s fastest growing forms of exercise and it has also become increasingly popular with over 50s across Wales.
“Now that I’ve qualified as a National Nordic Walking Coach, I’ll be able to train even more people to become Nordic Walking instructors through the Age Cymru Nordic Walking programme for older people in Wales.”
Glenn’s achievement means that he is fully qualified to deliver training and support to a national Nordic Walking programme for older people in Wales.
