Older people's charity hosting a Spring Wellness event at Y Gaer Museum, Glamorgan Street, Brecon

Published on 03 April 2024 01:35 PM

Age Cymru Powys together with project partner Age Cymru will be hosting a HOPE Spring Wellness and Wellbeing event on Thursday 21 March 2024 from 10am to 2pm at Y Gaer Museum, Glamorgan Street, Brecon.

HOPE (Helping others participate and engage) is a partnership project delivering independent advocacy for older people (50+) and their carers across Wales.

The event will provide information and support to help those aged 50 or over, and their carers, to keep well this springtime.

There’ll be information on a range of issues including advocacy, claiming benefits, housing, community safety, and how to reduce your energy bills.

There’ll be more than twenty organisations attending including the Farming Community Network, Powys Association of Volunteer Organisations, Care & Repair In Powys, Versus Arthritis, and Dwr Cymru Welsh Water.

And of course, there will be free refreshments throughout the event.

Age Cymru Powys’ Chief Officer, Gail Colbridge says “We’re delighted to be part of a partnership that will bring so many organisations together for an event to improve wellbeing for older people in Powys. There is a lot on offer, so I’d urge older people in the area to come along to the event. Our charity has been supporting older people since 1995 and we’ll continue helping them access the information and advice they’ll need on a wide range of issues”.
