Age UK Derby & Derbyshire achieves top quality mark

06 January 2015

We are proud to have achieved the Organisational Quality Standards for local Age UKs in England, which recognise the high standard of our performance as an organisation.

We are proud to have achieved the Organisational Quality Standards for local Age UKs in England, which recognise the high standard of our performance as an organisation.

The Standards are externally assessed and awarded to local Age UKs which have demonstrated that they are well-governed and effective organisations committed to the wellbeing of older people, its staff and volunteers, and to working in partnership with others.

The Organisational Quality Standards are endorsed by the Charity Commission, the regulatory body for charities. The Charity Commission only endorses quality systems that meet its challenging benchmark for comprehensive, robust and objective assessments of how charities are run. Endorsed quality systems encourage compliance and accountability, and test for those key aspects of a charity's governance that are most likely to produce a well-run, accountable and sustainable organisation.

We achieved the Standards following rigorous examination of evidence of our work, and a full day assessment visit by leading experts SGS.

The Organisational Quality Standards fit alongside our existing ISO 9001 certification to demonstrate the quality of our performance as an organisation.
