Bereavement support in North Tyneside

Published on 02 May 2024 09:06 AM

Grief is a deeply personal journey, but that doesn’t mean it’s something you have to experience alone.

Age UK North Tyneside are partnering with Nicola Gauld, founder of The Grief Circle, to offer eight sessions of bereavement group support. These sessions are fully funded by The National Lottery Community Fund meaning there is no cost to attendees.

There will be a mixture of support through talking and sharing, some grief education, and a grief related creative activity. All creative materials are supplied and every member will receive their own journal to use within the course.

The groups will be run by Nicola with assistance from Kira. Both Nicola and Kira are trained counsellors.

Each group will be a closed group with no more than six attendees, meaning the members will be consistent for the eight week duration with no additional drop ins.

The first cohort will begin on Wednesday, 12th June and will run until the end of July. The second cohort is expected to start in September.

The group will take place in Age UK North Tyneside’s Community Room at the Bradbury Centre and will run for 90 minutes from 10am to 11.30am.

If you would like to attend The Grief Circle, please call Nicola on 07803 549 402 or email connectinggrief@gmail.com.
