Our Befriending Service offers support to older people in their own home through regular visits or calls from a volunteer
Our Befriending Service offers support to older people in their own home through regular visits or calls from a volunteer for an informal, friendly chat or assistance with minor tasks such as reading mail.
Our aim for this service is to help combat loneliness and isolation which is experienced by many older people living within North Worcestershire.
All our Befriending Volunteers are DBS (criminal records) checked and have been carefully selected for the role.
The service is completely free of charge.
Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest provide a telephone befriending service where an older person is contacted on a regular basis by one of our team of volunteers.
The service gives the client the opportunity to discuss a wide range of issues and interests and helps to prevent social isolation.
It is a free service and we pay for the cost of the phone call.
