If you have been diagnosed with dementia or you are supporting a friend or family member with dementia, we can help you. We empower people affected by dementia to carry on their chosen lifestyle. We equip people with knowledge and practical support to live well with dementia and we also understand the impact of dementia on family and friends.
We will work with you to discuss not only what your needs are but what you want out of life, make plans for the future and help you achieve this. We will help you create an individual support plan and work with you to achieve the results you want. We can meet with you at your home, or somewhere else where you feel comfortable, alternatively we can discuss the support you need over the phone or via email. We will help you understand your diagnosis of dementia and signpost you to the right support for you

The Herbert Protocol – Helping Keep People with Dementia Safe
We support the use of the Herbert Protocol, a free and simple tool that can help locate a person with dementia quickly if they go missing. By completing a short form with important details — such as a recent photograph, medical needs, favourite places, and daily routines — you can give the police vital information immediately, helping to speed up searches and improve the chances of a safe return. You can complete the form online or download it at http://safeandfoundonline.co.uk/herbert-protocol/index.html. If you would like help filling it in, please contact us on 01303 269602 or email admin@ageukhla.org.uk.
