We know that memory changes can feel worrying, but many people don’t know where to turn. That’s why the Memory Champions Project exists.

Our trained team offers free, friendly memory checks in our local hubs. These checks are designed to give you reassurance, guidance, and a gentle first step if you’ve noticed changes in your memory, or in someone you love.

The appointment is simple and supportive:

You’ll receive a warm welcome and a relaxed chat.

We’ll carry out the SMMSE (Standardised Mini-Mental State Examination) — a short, recognised assessment using simple questions and activities that look at memory, attention, and thinking.

We’ll share the results with your GP, who will advise on any next steps if needed.

It’s not a diagnosis, and there’s no pressure. For some people, the check brings peace of mind. For others, it opens the door to further support. Either way, you’re not alone.
