Carers Relief Service is part of Age UK Kent Rivers and provides flexible, varied, client-led support, social interaction and respite for individuals with Learning Disabilities and older people living in Kent.
About Carers Relief Service
Carers Relief Service is part of Age UK Kent Rivers and provides a variety of support and respite for individuals with Learning Disabilities and vulnerable older people, offering the following services:
✓ A flexible service based on the carer's and / or client's requirements
✓ Personal Support Workers to work in the community with adults who have a Learning Disability, to relieve the main carer from the pressure of caring
✓ Encouraging adults with a Learning Disability to make choices about the activities they engage in within their community
✓ Support for older people at home or within the community
Our Personal Support Workers can help with a wide selection of activities.
Community Support
Social Activities:
o Cinema
o Bowling
o Music Man
o GBeatz Disco, Gems (The Zoo) Disco
o Day trips - Circus, Festivals, River Cruises, etc.
o Games of Snooker/Pool at local Snooker Club
Social Hub:
o Arts and Crafts
o Puzzles
o Games
o Pool Table
o Bingo
o Activity Afternoon
Education, Health & Wellbeing:
o Support at Adult Education Classes
o Supporting clients during employment / work setting
o Support at the Gym
o Swimming
o Football
o Support with day-to-day activities
o Supporting clients to complete their shopping
Support at Home
Food Shopping and Meals:
o Weekly food and household shopping on behalf of client
o Supporting clients with a healthy, well-balanced meal and offer of support whilst at home
Sit-in Service:
o Companionship
o Social interaction
o Support with food and beverages
o Client-led activities

At Carers Relief Service, we meet each client's specific needs with a person-centered approach, providing an individual care plan to suit you. We recognise the importance of familiar staff attending regularly.
