With more services moving online, Age UK City of London are here to help you get online and help with any questions you have about technology.

See below for our list of ways we can help you get online and recieve the tech support that you need

Barbican Library drop-in

Now and again, everyone needs a little bit of help with their tech. We offer a free drop-in support service at Barbican Library, every Tuesday evening 5.30pm - 7pm.

Whether you’re confused about updates, anxious about scams or want to know how to get the best out of your battery, our expert volunteers can help. Simply ask for us at the front desk when you come in.

Bring your phone, laptop or tablet along and don’t forget to charge it before you come. Complete beginners welcome. At busy times you may need to wait to be seen. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available.

Portsoken drop in

We offer a free drop-in service on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, 1.30-3.30pm at Portsoken Community Centre. Simply turn up to get help with using your phone, tablet or laptop. We are based in the foyer of the community centre - you can't miss us! Don't forget to charge your device before you come.

One to one appointments at Golden Lane Community Centre

We also run a free and friendly drop-in at Golden Lane Community Centre [map] on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, 1:30-3:30pm.
We can help you with installing the NHS App, setting up a new email address, backing up your photos, learning how to use AI, and much more.

You can book either by emailing: digitalinclusion@ageukcityoflondon.org.uk or by leaving a voicemail on Nik's phone: 07977 997 436

Home visits

If you would be unable to attend the above sessions due to mobility issues, we can provide a home visit.  Please email digitalinclusion@ageukcityoflondon.org.uk to arrange an appointment.

The service is available to City residents aged 55+

Device loan scheme

Not sure if the internet is for you? If you’re a complete beginner and want to find out a bit more about it, you can borrow a reconditioned laptop or tablet for up to 3 months while you try it out. (City residents aged 55+)

Digital Guides

We have developed a series of digital support guides in an easy to understand, step-by-step manual which you can download on your computer or print at home.

Tea and Tech sessions

We host monthly Tea and Tech sessions in various locations around central London. These sessions are hosted by teams of corporate volunteers, in their workplace, and refreshments and snacks are provided. It's a fun way to get help with using your phone or tablet and meet some new people at the same time. Recent hosts have included Gucchi and JLL. Booking is essential and places are limited. If you would like to attend please call Ciaran on 07816 407 804 or email digitalinclusion@ageukcityoflondon.org.uk
