Good News doesn't always make the Headlines. It does here!

Over the Winter period, we have seen many negative stories that are packed with doom and gloom, so we wanted to buck this trend and share a heartwarming story about Age UK Cornwall clients and the generosity of Windy Ridge Eating House.

Read the short story below, lovingly written by Bill Pearce.

The Windy Ridge Eating House is situated just off the A38 at Trerulefoot on the the Liskeard to Torpoint Road.

Its current owners are Rod Murrian and Rob Cooper, who generously chose Age UK Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly as their local charity and invited us to a FREE festive lunch - and what a lunch it was!

The warmest of welcomes were provided upon our arrival, along with a refreshing beverage. The main course was a help-yourself Carvery with a choice of meats, which included Turkey, and a wide selection of veg (with my favourite Swede on its own, not mixed with Carrots!). The main was followed by a lovely choice of afters, as a traditionalist, I settled for a Christmas pud, but Cheesecake with Baileys was also popular amongst my friends. To top things off, we enjoyed Tea or Coffee and a generous slab of Christmas Cake to take home. All this, and we were promised similar offers throughout 2024. What a team!

Sincere thankyou's seemed insufficient in return for their generosity.
