Help us make Christmas a little brighter for a lonely older person.

At 97, Terry has a lot of festive celebrations to look back on. Happy times, surrounded by friends, family, fun and laughter.

But sadly, ever since she lost her husband to Alzheimer’s and her son passed away at just 62, these fond memories quickly became her only comfort at Christmas. As Terry says:

"I can go a week without speaking to anyone at all. I just ignored Christmas last year."

Thanks to our Telephone Friendship Service, Terry won’t be lonely this Christmas.

She’s been matched with a new telephone friend who calls every week for a chat to help make Terry’s days a little brighter all year round.

"When you don’t speak or hear anyone else's voice, it’s terrible. I sometimes go a week without seeing or talking to anyone except my telephone friend...It’s a joy to know her."
